What are your business hours? MetroVac is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm EST. We are closed for the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. We typically close around 3:00pm EST on the business day before a Federal Holiday.
Can I make a purchase or drop off a repair at your Oakland, NJ locations? Yes, purchases can be made, and repairs can be dropped off and picked up during normal business hours; However, we ask that you call in advance to let us know you are coming and what item(s) you want to purchase. You cannot view or test assorted machines at our location.
Can I return an item I haven’t used? If for any reason you are not satisfied with your MetroVac product, you may return it in its original packaging within 30 days of receipt for a refund. The return email will give you instructions on where to return the merchandise within 1-2 business days. Any items that are passed 30 days may not be accepted or subject to a restocking fee.
Can I return an item I bought through another store to you? To return items you purchased through one of distributors or dealers, please contact the company you made the purchase from directly.

Why is my card not being declined? Please call your bank to make sure they are not blocking the transaction. Be sure the bill to address is the address your bank has on file/where your credit card is mailed to.

Can I use a transformer or converter with my machine? NO! MetroVac does not recommend using a transformer or converter for our machines. Any damage caused by using a transformer or converter would not be covered under warranty.
I think I ordered the wrong voltage for my country. What can I do? You may have purchased a 120-volt product and are running at 220-240 volts. We do indeed manufacture 220-240 volt units that are suitable for use in your country. We don’t recommend the use of transformers or converters. You would need a new motor and new cord. By the time you get done with the cost of the components and shipping costs you may be better off ordering a NEW correct 220-240-volt product from one of our suppliers.
I lost my receipt; how can I determine when my MetroVac was assembled? Every product we ship has a date code on it (usually on the bottom) indicating month and year it was built. Removal of the date stamp code sticker will void the warranty.
Why are the prices on your website higher than other websites and dealers? As the manufacturer we don’t want to compete on price with our resellers.
What is covered under warranty? Each products warranty information can be found on the product page. Warranty benefits are only available when MetroVac products are purchased from MetroVac or authorized MetroVac dealers. The manufacturer's warranty is not transferable when sold by unauthorized retailers. Removal of the date stamp code sticker will void the warranty.
How do I register my product? We no longer register products. If there is an issue with your machine, we will use the date code stamp on the machine, or your original purchase receipt.

12-volt vacuum cleaners vs. 110-volt vacuum cleaners, what do you recommend? If someone has 110 volts available, even with a long extension cord the VM4S500 is the way to go. Nothing beats the 500 watts of power that it offers with the exception of the 4.0 Peak HP VAC N BLO. Bottom line, I still push 110 volts over 12 volts. The 12 volt AM4SB comes in handy when 110-volt AC outlets are just not available (apartment/condo owners). As 12-volt cigarette lighter adaptor models go, this is the best. The vacs look identical with the exception of the motor and cord. VM is 110 volt and AM series is 12-volt.

Do I need to use paper bags with my Vac N Blo or full-size machines? The cloth bag should be used in conjunction with the paper bag. You don’t necessarily have to use the paper bags although it is a lot more sanitary to dispose of the paper bags than to “shake out the dirt” from the cloth bag. We also recommend that you continue using the 3 ply paper bags which help prevent dust from entering the motor end environment.
How do I use my Vac N Blo as a blower and maximize the airflow? To maximize the blowing power; remove the front-end cap and cloth bag, leave the foam filter in place and leave it wide open. Do not replace the front-end cap. The VAC N BLO is designed to blow water out of hard-to-reach inaccessible areas of your vehicle. It is not capable of drying your entire car. You'd need the master blaster for that.
Can I dry cars with Vac N Blo? The Vac N Blo is a phenomenal vacuum cleaner for detailing your car. The compact size and awesome suction power makes quick work of cleaning carpeting and upholstery. The blower feature on the Vac N Blo will certainly clear water from door jambs, seams, and other hard to reach areas. Please explain the 3-degrees of the Master Blaster? The Master Blaster features two twin fan 4.0 Peak Horse-power motors capable of delivering up to 58,000 feet-per-minute of clean, dry, warm, filtered air! Each motor is controlled by a separate switch that allows you to select from three different airflow and temperature levels up to 60º above ambient. If you use ONLY the FRONT motor, you’ll get one level of blowing power and heat. If you use ONLY the BACK motor, you’ll get another level of blowing power and heat. The truth is that these two scenarios above (of operating one motor at a time) are not really dramatically different.
Can I use the motors independently on the Master Blaster? You can use the front independently or the rear, it doesn’t make a difference. If using only one motor, we recommend switching between the two motors for even carbon brush wear.
My Master Blaster is running HOT, or my Master Blaster doesn’t get as hot as it used to. The heat produced is directly related to the temperature that the unit is being used in. If it's a really hot day, it'll get really hot. If it's 65, you'll get maybe 115-125, or so.
How can I fix my Master Blaster Hose making a whistling, screeching or whining noise? Unscrew the hose cuff off clockwise; Cut 1” off the raw spiral hose; Screw the cuff on counterclockwise.
My Master Blaster Hose came apart at the cuff at the end of the hose. How do I fix it? Occasionally, we will receive calls from users saying that their MASTER BLASTER & BLASTER HOSE is defective. 99.99% of the time it is not. We don’t glue one of the hose ends on the 10 or 30-foot hose to provide greater flexibility in adjusting the air flow. There are times that the hose end will come “unscrewed”. It can be screwed back on counterclockwise. The hose is not defective. The hose end came off.
My machine seems to be leaking air from different areas of the casing, is that normal? Due to the tremendous velocity of air produced by our products, you may experience some air venting by the seams, this is completely normal and helps keep the unit running efficiently.
How do I adjust the blowing power on my machine/hose? The power control slide located on the hose end can be used to reduce suction or blowing power.
My vacuum canister is getting very hot, is that normal? Our units have been known to run hot. It is completely normal, however, if the heat is excessive, please call customer service, 800-822-1602. You always need to make sure that the dust bag is not too full and the filter is clean.

How often do I need to change the filters/bags/carbon brushes? Filters should be changed when dirty or monthly. Bags should be changed when they are full or a drop in suction is noticed. Carbon brushes should be changed every 500 hours of use.

Am I responsible for returning shipping costs on maintenance/repairs? Yes, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs for machines being sent back for repair or maintenance.
